Role Description The Civil and Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing engineering analysis and design for buildings, foundations, and site infrastructure, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include preparing calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports, as well as reviewing shop drawings and responding to requests for information during construction. The engineer will coordinate with internal team members, architects, and other consultants to develop integrated design solutions and support project meetings.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with site visits, field observations, and condition assessments to verify design assumptions and construction quality. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cypress, CA.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design for site development, grading, utilities, and related infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Structural Engineering and Structural Analysis for buildings, foundations, and structural systems.
- Experience with Project Management, including planning tasks, tracking progress, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field; master’s degree is a plus.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or in progress;
Professional Engineer (PE) license in California is preferred or willingness to obtain. - Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC) and common engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD/Revit, structural analysis programs).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical work clearly and collaborate with diverse project stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in an on-site office environment.
