Job Summary
Seeking a Principal Optical Infrared Systems Test Engineer for a high growth DoD contractor in the Cypress, CA area. The role involves leading end‑to‑end characterization of advanced space‑based IR imaging systems, owning the full test lifecycle, and guiding AI&T task planning and proposal development for next‑generation aerospace missions.
Responsibilities- System Testing: Lead characterization of imaging systems, focusing on optical and spectral performance.
- Test Development: Define requirements and author detailed procedures for complex hardware setups.
- Execution & Diagnostics: Conduct lab/cleanroom testing; troubleshoot multi-disciplinary issues across electrical, software, and optical domains.
- Data Processing: Utilize MATLAB to automate data analysis, process spectral measurements, and generate technical reports.
- AI&T Management: Lead technical teams through Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) execution and task planning.
- Equipment Optimization: Troubleshoot test hardware and implement solutions to increase system reliability and throughput.
- Client Interface: Deliver technical presentations and project status updates directly to customers.
- Business Growth: Support proposals, technical write‑ups, cost estimation (BOEs), and capital equipment planning.
- Minimum 8 years of experience.

Salary: $180,000 – $210,000 per year. Full W-2 benefits offered, paid relocation available. Additional benefits include medical, prescription, dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, short‑term disability, and 401(k) plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
