Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team in Cypress, CA. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of corporate accounting and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and J-SOX regulations. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of providing innovative photonic solutions.

• Manage the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with J-SOX regulations and internal controls.
• Oversee accounts payable process.
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff to enhance team performance.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Prepare tax filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations (income tax, sales tax, other regulatory tax).
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and perform reconciliations.
• Oversee month-end closings, prepare monthly financials and flux analysis.
• Prepare quarterly/monthly financial report package to parent company.
• Post bi-weekly payroll (ADP) GL file, reconcile 401K.
• Prepare/Review monthly account reconciliations.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax return preparation.
• Collaborate with other departments during the annual forecast/budget process.
• Assist Senior Director of Finance in technical accounting research, interpretation, and memo writing, including the implementation of new accounting standards as applicable.
• Assist Senior Director of Finance in constant improvement of processes by monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and maximize use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Supervise and/or mentor AP, Accounting Supervisor.
• Additional Ad Hoc Projects as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of Accounting for a manufacturing company preferred.
• At least 5 years of management experience.
• Experience with JD Edwards and/or Oracle is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with tax regulations is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting.
