Overview

Thread lock Precision seeks a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to manage precision machining operations of its high-performance and fast-growing plant in Cypress, California. The Plant Manager will oversee all elements of the operational performance of the plant, including managing the production process, coordinating across various plant and support functions, and managing resources to achieve operational, financial, and production goals while maintaining high safety standards.

This leader will be responsible for ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and with high customer satisfaction. The Plant Manager will report directly to the COO & President of Thread lock.

Our plant in Cypress, California has 32 employees and X machines operating in 11,000 square feet.

What you’ll do day-to-day
  • Plan, organize, direct and run day-to-day operations, ensuring on-time delivery, quality performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive improvements in throughput, asset utilization, and scheduling flexibility while managing cost and maintaining or improving quality standards.
  • Establish clear operational metrics, review performance daily, and lead corrective actions when targets are missed.
  • Recruit, manage and develop plant staff and build and maintain trusting relationships with plant employees.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to identify waste, bottlenecks, and unnecessary overtime, and lead countermeasures.
  • Lead plant safety procedures and commit to achieving a best-in-class safety record.
  • Own production planning and execution across all shifts, balancing customer demand, capacity, labor, and inventory.
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
  • Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts and incorporate these into plant operations.

This role does not own sales, quoting, customer pricing, accounting, accounts payable/receivable, or corporate HR administration. These functions are supported centrally so the Plant Manager can remain focused on operational excellence.

Who we’re looking for
  • Proven work experience as a plant manager of a precision machining facility.
  • Proven managerial experience leading teams on a manufacturing shop floor.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles as they relate to plant operations, including cost control, resource allocation, and workforce planning.
  • Experience with the standards and requirements of precision manufacturing for aerospace and defense end-markets.
  • Experience in the new product introduction process including close collaboration with programming and engineering.
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.
  • Computer literacy and competence with ERP systems such as Pro Shop.
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on leadership experience in precision manufacturing.

  • Salary:
    Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
  • Pay Range: $125,000 to $200,000 plus bonus
