Position: CNC Machinist-- MEHDC5758734

Machinist is responsible for operating manual and CNC machines to produce precision parts that meet strict tolerances and specifications. This role requires expertise in machining methods, precision measurement, and the ability to work with a variety of metals and materials. The machinist will ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Shift: Start out as 6-2:30pm and then once trained moved to 2-10:30pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine parts to precise dimensions, maintaining close tolerances, concentricity, finish, and parallelism.
  • Select appropriate speeds and feeds based on material type and finish requirements.
  • Utilize fixturing methods (shims, wedges, parallels, blocks, supports, chucks, etc.) to properly align work pieces and prevent tool or part damage.
  • Inspect in-process and finished parts using precision measuring instruments to validate specifications.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints to ensure accuracy of manufactured components.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machining equipment.
  • Lift items weighing up to 40 pounds and work overtime or alternate shifts as required.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ machine shop experience, including operating mills, lathes, and related equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of machining methods, precision tools, and cutting qualities of metals.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
  • Experience with manual and CNC operation on mills, lathes, grinders, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • 2+ years of machining experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Technical certificate from a trade school.
