Position OverviewThe Senior Machine Operator plays a key role in ensuring machinery is properly set up, maintained, and running efficiently to meet high standards for quality and productivity. This includes working with technically complex equipment such as slitters, rewinders, and rotary presses.
This position is critical to maintaining smooth production operations, meeting deadlines, and supporting new product development. You will collaborate closely with production teams and leadership while also contributing to process improvements and training others.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, proactive, and comfortable troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues as they arise.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Hands‑on experience with equipment such as rotary or flat‑bed presses, slitters, rewinders, or similar machinery.
- Experience with digital or laser cutting equipment is a plus.
- Ability to train and mentor less experienced operators.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Industry certifications related to production or quality are a plus.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and noise.
- Frequent use of hands and repetitive motion.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to operate machinery for long durations.
- Must be able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces when needed.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Requires strong visual acuity, including close and distance vision and color recognition.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment by following safety standards and manufacturing best practices (including 5S principles).
- Operate and maintain a variety of production machines to ensure efficient workflows and high‑quality output.
- Review production schedules and work orders to determine specifications and optimize machine setup.
- Adjust machine controls to regulate speed, alignment, and production accuracy.
- Install and align tooling such as dies, blades, and fixtures using appropriate tools and measuring devices.
- Monitor machine performance and record operational data during production runs.
- Perform precise measurements using tools like calipers and micrometers to ensure products meet specifications.
- Conduct quality checks and make necessary adjustments to correct defects.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of equipment.
- Maintain productivity standards while minimizing material waste.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned equipment and processes.
- Train and mentor junior operators on machine operation and procedures.
- Collaborate with production leadership to improve processes and maintain best practices.
- Support new product development and onboarding initiatives as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Ability to work overtime when required.
