Job Description
Production Leader at Rolls-Royce located in Cypress, CA. Work onsite on the 3rd shift (10:00 pm – 6:30 am).
Responsibilities- Drive a culture of continuous improvement that prioritises safety, zero harm and zero defects, achieving yield targets and environmental objectives.
- Ensure all work complies with legislative and technical policies and standards, fostering a product safety culture.
- Develop agreed cell cost‑center budgets (headcount, productivity, absenteeism, consumable cost) and identify improvements in productivity and consumable costs.
- Deliver products on time by optimising load and capacity tools and managing bottlenecks to maintain flow through the cell.
- Fully deploy and sustain all relevant Production System minimum standards.
- Inspire and develop the manufacturing team to consistently deliver high performance through effective coaching, training, delegation, and lean leadership behaviours.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the shift.
- Must climb stairs and ladders and lift up to 55 lb.
- Requires normal vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception) and the ability to adjust focus.
- Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
- Associate degree and 7+ years of experience in operations, planning and control, supply chain, engineering, or quality; or
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in the same fields; or
- Master's degree and 3+ years of experience; or
- JD/PhD; or
- 9+ years of experience in the same fields in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is required for eligibility.
- Company‑wide perspective and exposure to diverse challenges, cultures, and ways of working.
- Broad knowledge across multiple disciplines.
- Track record of improving operational performance under varying conditions, using cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma, preferably with Green Belt accreditation.
- Management experience in an engineering industry (ideal but not essential).
