The Planner II is responsible for owning digital work order release, routing creation and maintenance, and day-to-day scheduling discipline in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key coordination point across manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality, and program teams to ensure work is accurately released, priorities remain aligned, and production activities move forward efficiently.
Unlike traditional planning roles that rely primarily on MRP-driven scheduling, this position requires a hands‑on, highly communicative planner who can operate effectively in a partially manual environment, coordinate across multiple programs, and help maintain production flow through direct engagement with the shop floor and support functions. This role will also support material tracking, movement, and shipping activities as needed to keep work progressing.
- Own the release of digital work orders to support production execution across multiple programs.
- Create, maintain, and update production routings and related work order data to ensure work is accurately defined and executable.
- Drive day-to-day scheduling discipline by coordinating priorities, monitoring work progression, and helping align production activity with site needs.
- Manually coordinate between programs and functions to balance priorities, resolve conflicts, and support schedule adherence in the absence of full MRP-based planning visibility.
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality, and program teams to communicate status, clarify priorities, and resolve issues that impact execution.
- Track work order progress and follow up on open actions, missing materials, routing issues, and other constraints that may delay production.
- Support material tracking to ensure parts, kits, and supporting items are available and positioned appropriately to meet production needs.
- Assist with material movement and shipping coordination to help maintain efficient flow of work and product through the site.
- Maintain planning tools, trackers, and reports needed to support execution in a fast-paced environment where manual coordination is required.
- Communicate schedule changes, production risks, and execution issues clearly and proactively to affected stakeholders.
- Help improve and standardize processes related to digital work order release, routing accuracy, scheduling discipline, and material flow.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
- Support site transition activities associated with digital work order implementation and related process improvements.
- Assist with special projects and cross-functional initiatives related to planning, production readiness, material coordination, and execution support.
- Provide general operational coordination support as needed to maintain schedule performance and production continuity.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in production planning, manufacturing coordination, scheduling, or operations support within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively…
