Raymond West is looking for a dynamic Installation Technician to join our team! The primary objectives of the Installation Technician are to install and work within all safety guidelines established by RW and OSHA, be proficient in repairing and servicing the customer’s equipment, and maintain good communication and working relationships with customers, peers, and management.
Duties and Responsibilities- Build and install all types of equipment that RW sells and services.
- Update training and skills on a continuing basis.
- Train other employees as needed.
- Follow all Storage & Automation Department procedures.
- Communicate with assigned Supervisor.
- Complete all service documentation in a timely, accurate fashion.
- Have the necessary tools to perform the install.
- Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
- Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle.
- Represent the company favorably in all situations.
- Pass all available certifications appropriate to the position.
- Maintain good working knowledge of customers and equipment in assigned areas.
- Report all accidents promptly, regardless of fault.
- Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
- Coordinate all overtime with the assigned supervisor.
- Must follow all procedures in the company’s Employee Handbook.
- Must follow safety procedures and use good judgment in regard to safety.
- Must be willing to work out of town as necessary.
- Establish a positive rapport with customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational time‑management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Must maintain effective working relationships with employees, co‑workers, and managers in other departments.
- Must be willing to work off‑hours as specific needs dictate and assume more responsibility as required.
- Must pass or possess all available certificates appropriate to the position.
- Possess sound working knowledge of basic DC electricity, basic AC electricity.
- Possess sound welding skills with a primary focus on arc as well as torch skills.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum of 3 years breakdown experience or comparable service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- This position will be based in the field and require daily travel within assigned territories.
- Technicians will be provided a company vehicle and a company Fuel Card to pay for vehicle expenses.
- Must be able to be insured by Raymond West.
- Position is non‑sedentary.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Position will be required to go onto job sites to perform duties where construction is underway.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The position will require employees to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to smell.
- Position requires the employee to climb/balance/stoop/kneel/crouch and crawl.
- The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
- The hourly range for this position is $20.00 - $50.00. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
