Field Technician, HT&P - Trainee

Overview

Acquire specific knowledge of TDW Hot Tapping and Plugging (HT&P) equipment and services operations through on‑the‑job and formalized training to become competent in field service work and to get certified.

• Assist certified technicians in handling, assembling, operating and disassembling TDW HT&P equipment during field operations, keeping up to date on all equipment maintenance and operational procedures to ensure safe, proper maintenance and satisfactory completion of the job.
• Comply with TDW and customer HSE standards and procedures, and stop any work with TDW equipment when unsafe conditions exist that threaten equipment, property damage or bodily injury.
• Collaborate with the certified technicians on equipment shipment from the jobsite and drafting the list of equipment loaded.
• Acquire knowledge of TDW HT&P equipment functions, repairs and services to enable efficient field performance for HT&P field applications, and perform maintenance and repair of TDW HT&P equipment.
• Learn and apply approved safety procedures to ensure the personal safety of all parties involved in the field work.
• Follow standard troubleshooting procedures to alleviate problems encountered in the field, ensuring safe and efficient field performance of equipment.
• Develop ability to respond to customer requirements and address problem‑solving aspects of all TDW field work.
• Prepare and submit expense reports in accordance with established procedures.
• Work in the workshop on equipment preparation/maintenance and stock management as required by management.
• Perform other tasks as may be required from time to time by upper management.

• Technical graduate combined with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a mechanical field.
• Experience working overseas and/or in refineries or plants is an asset.

• Willing to travel extensively.
• Good communication skills in English; other languages are an asset.
