HID Global is seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our quality assurance team. In this role, you will test access control products and other physical access devices, collaborate with global teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement in our QA processes.

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for embedded systems and related applications.
• Perform functional, automation, integration, and regression testing to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and test frameworks for embedded devices.
• Conduct hands‑on testing of hardware devices, including setup, wiring, and configuration of test environments.
• Perform network analysis using tools such as Wireshark to troubleshoot embedded‑system communications.
• Identify, document, and track software and hardware defects, ensuring timely resolution.
• Validate firmware, applications, and system integrations across Windows and Linux environments.
• Ensure consistent adherence to QA standards, processes, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and global teams—including development, product management, and support—to ensure product quality.
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, providing technical leadership and best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Participate in test strategy development and support product lifecycle quality initiatives.
• Assist in building and maintaining test labs, test rigs, and device testing environments.
• Support integration testing of networked devices and physical access control systems.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and provide clear reporting to stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of hands‑on QA engineering experience, preferably with embedded systems.
• Experience testing Windows and/or Linux-based applications.
• Strong expertise in functional testing, regression testing, and test automation.
• Proven experience developing automation scripts and test frameworks.
• Experience with test planning, test case design, and QA methodologies.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware setup, wiring, and physical device testing.
• Proficiency in network troubleshooting and packet capture tools such as Wireshark.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience within QA teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred:
  Experience with Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), test labs, and test rigs.
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of embedded applications, firmware testing, web services, networking concepts, serial protocols (RS‑232, RS‑485), virtualized environments, IoT devices, and cybersecurity testing methodologies.
