Company Overview:
Amass is the parent company of Augment Human Resource Services, which provides high-volume general labor staffing for the sanitation industry, and Augment Professional Services (APS), which specializes in technical and professional staffing for the tech, energy, and engineering sectors. The Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of both brands under the Amass umbrella.
Position Overview:
The Accountant is responsible for general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, reconciliation, and support of the month-end close process. This position ensures that accurate financial data is maintained and reported in a timely fashion. The role will also assist with budgeting, audits, and tax preparation while helping to streamline financial processes as Amass continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries for recurring and non-recurring transactions.
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and sub-ledgers.
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), working closely with vendors and internal teams.
Generate and analyze financial statements for internal leadership review.
Ensure timely invoicing to clients and accurate application of payments.
Prepare and file sales tax reports and assist with other regulatory filings.
Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
Partner with the Payroll and HR teams to reconcile payroll expenses and liabilities.
Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in an accounting role (staff accountant or higher preferred).Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting procedures.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, or similar); experience with Paycom is a plus.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookup, etc.).High attention to detail, organization, and time management.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule & Conditions:
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Occasional extended hours may be required during month-end or audit periods.
