This senior leadership role is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, developing strategic customer relationships, and leading both inside and outside sales teams.
The Sales Director will play a critical role in shaping and executing the organization's commercial strategy while partnering closely with executive leadership, operations, procurement, logistics, transportation, and customer service teams. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in the energy services industry along with a proven ability to lead high‑performing sales organizations and deliver sustained revenue growth. Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop inside and outside sales teams to achieve revenue, margin, and customer acquisition goals.
- Establish performance metrics, sales objectives, and accountability measures aligned with organizational growth strategies.
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a high‑performance sales culture focused on customer service, business development, and long‑term relationship management.
- Recruit, train, and retain top sales talent to support continued growth.
- Drive new business development efforts across fuel, lubricants, DEF, fleet fueling, equipment fueling, and related service offerings.
- Expand existing customer relationships through strategic account management and cross‑selling opportunities.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities within construction, transportation, logistics, agriculture, industrial, energy, manufacturing, and fleet operations markets.
- Develop strategies to increase market penetration and expand geographic coverage.
- Personally engage with key customers and major prospects to support complex sales opportunities.
- Develop and execute sales strategies that support short‑term objectives and long‑term growth plans.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasting, pipeline management, and territory performance reporting.
- Analyze market trends, customer purchasing behavior, competitive activity, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor revenue, profitability, pricing, and sales performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Implement and improve sales processes, CRM utilization, and reporting tools to enhance team effectiveness.
- Partner with operations, logistics, dispatch, and customer service teams to ensure sales commitments align with service capabilities.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on pricing strategies, contract structures, margin targets, and growth initiatives.
- Support company marketing efforts, customer engagement strategies, and brand positioning initiatives.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic accounts and key decision‑makers.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and long‑term partnership development.
- Assist in resolving complex customer issues while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Represent the organization at industry events, trade associations, customer meetings, and networking opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Sales/HR, Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience leading a team of 4+ inside and outside sales producers.
- 10+ years of sales experience within the oil and gas, energy services, fuel distribution, lubricants, transportation, industrial supply, logistics, or related industries.
- 3+ years of experience leading, managing, and developing sales teams with 5+ direct reports, including cross‑functional collaboration with internal commercial and operational teams.
- Demonstrated success achieving revenue growth, market expansion, and customer acquisition objectives.
- Strong understanding of pricing strategies, contract negotiations, margin management, and customer relationship development.
- Experience utilizing CRM platforms, sales analytics, forecasting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment requiring close coordination between sales and operations.
