Purpose and Scope
This position will assist college students with academic tutoring and/or mentoring. As a tutor, the position performs student interventions that are focused on increasing completion of degrees or certificates. The role requires a high level of information provision, one‑on‑one student interactions, and engagement with a high volume of customers from diverse groups.

- Proficiency with one or more office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

The work is sedentary. The employee typically sits comfortably to do the work, but there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items (e.g., papers, books, or small parts), or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required.
Work Schedule and Conditions- Equipment used includes a PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment.
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.
- Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Must be a currently enrolled Lone Star student pursuing a course of study.
Hourly Pay Rate is $16.22
