Early Childhood
- Must be at least 18 years of age; proof of high school graduation/GED equivalent required. Some college hours preferred.
- Physically able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Flexible and able to adjust daily routine or work schedule based on the needs of the children and the center.
- Minimum of one-year successful experience in a state regulated childcare facility or educational setting required, two years preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.

- Experience as a lead instructor preferred.
- Available occasional nights and weekends as required for scheduled meetings or trainings.
- Knowledge of the Texas Minimum Standards for Childcare Centers.
- Knowledge of early childhood education curriculum and instruction.
- Possess an understanding of early childhood brain development.
- Possess an understanding of developmental stages.
- Ability to meet/maintain all eligibility requirements required by Texas Health and Human Services to be employed in a child care operation, including maintaining required first aid and CPR certification.

Essential Functions- Implement the daily schedule and lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the department's curriculum program and adapt, as needed, based on the needs of individual learners.
- Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of young learners.
- Utilize age appropriate strategies to manage the behavior of young learners in accordance with district and department policies and guidelines, as well as the Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers.
- Assist children with physical needs and personal care, including feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene.
- Actively supervise children in all programming areas and take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect children, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Create a classroom environment that is warm and welcoming for children and parents.
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom, including supporting the cleanliness of the center and sanitizing of all center supplies.

- Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, children, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Complete all necessary paperwork as assigned by the ELC Director.
