Role Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the successful execution of electrical construction projects by assisting in planning, coordination, and day-to-day project management activities. This role works closely with Project Managers, field leadership, vendors, and internal teams to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company standards. The APM plays a key role in managing documentation, tracking project performance, supporting procurement and financial processes, and facilitating communication across all phases of the project lifecycle.
EssentialFunctions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Assist the PM in managing day-to-day project operations and administrative tasks.
- Support the preparation, review, and tracking of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project logs.
- Help organize weekly project schedules, manpower plans, material deliveries, and long-lead tracking.
- Attend project meetings (internal and external) and prepare meeting notes or action items.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure timely distribution of updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct periodic site walks with the PM or Superintendent to observe progress and verify installation compliance.
- Assist with documenting field conditions, tracking percent of completion, and reporting potential delays.
- Coordinate with field leadership to ensure alignment on project goals, safety standards, and execution plans.
- Assist in monitoring labor hours, equipment usage, and material costs.
- Review purchase orders, delivery tickets, and subcontractor invoices for accuracy.
- Help prepare weekly project summaries and cost-to-complete updates for leadership.
- Support communication between clients, general contractors, engineers, and Enterprise Electrical teams.
- Maintain professionalism when interacting with external partners while representing Enterprise Electrical values.
- Reinforce Enterprise Electrical’s Safety Standards during all site visits.
- Ensure project activities align with NEC, local codes, and company quality requirements.
- Assist in project closeout tasks including punch list documentation, as-builts coordination, and turnover packages.
- Basic understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, and project workflows.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with construction/project management software.
- Ability to work collaboratively with field teams, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of safety practices and jobsite requirements.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
- None directly; may assist in coordinating field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors as directed by the Project Manager.
- Combination of office and field work environment. Work is performed primarily on active construction sites with ongoing electrical and general construction activities.
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and humidity.
- Exposure to typical construction site conditions such as noise, dust, vibration, and moving equipment.
- May work near energized equipment, elevated work areas, excavations, and confined or restricted spaces in compliance with OSHA safety procedures.
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and other environmental conditions common to construction sites.
- Work may require occasional travel between multiple project sites.
- Frequently walk active construction sites, including uneven surfaces and unfinished structures.
- Occasionally climb stairs, ladders, or temporary access systems in compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, or reach as necessary to observe work activities and inspect conditions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and subcontractors in person and over the phone or radio.
- Occasionally lift, carry, or move materials or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without assistance.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and fall protection equipment when required.
- Full-time position.

- Monday through Friday standard hours vary based on job site and location.
- Actual hours may vary based on business needs.
- Primarily a day-shift role.
