Hospitalist

Houston Methodist Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospitalist to join our highly respected and collaborative Hospital Medicine team as a full-time Nocturnist. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care during overnight hours, including admissions, cross-coverage, consultations, and management of acute medical conditions.
• Respond to and manage medical emergencies while exercising sound clinical judgment.
• Collaborate closely with specialists, nursing staff, advanced practice providers, case management, and ancillary services to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referring physicians to ensure smooth transitions of care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice efforts.
• Support the education and development of residents and medical students, as applicable.

Shift & Schedule

• Full-time Nocturnist position
• 7-on/7-off schedule
• 12-hour shifts

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Texas Medical License
• Previous Hospitalist or Nocturnist experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex acute inpatient medical conditions
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
