Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized, accredited college or university, with additional graduate study or a Master’s degree preferred.
- Bilingual certification required.
- Valid Texas teacher’s certificate.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a bilingual teacher.
- Demonstrated skill in leading, motivating, coaching and cooperating with other teachers.
- Successful experience with at-risk students and flexible regrouping language arts.
- Communication skills in Spanish or other languages are preferred.

Essential Functions- Provide ongoing professional development to teachers of Emergent Bilingual (EB) students.
- Provide campus support to improve Emergent Bilingual student achievement.
- Support campuses with teacher planning, share sessions, and professional development.
- Provide training support to teachers on the ELPS and TEKS.
- Observe, model lessons, and provide feedback to EB teachers.
- Train teachers on the implementation and delivery of linguistic accommodations and strategies.
- Assist in curriculum development that targets differentiation and language development.
- Support teachers with certification test preparation including those on state exception and waiver.
- Collaborate with human resources on recruitment of bilingual and ESL teachers.
- Improve student achievement by monitoring student data including state and district assessments.
- Communicate and collaborate with EB curriculum coaches and Director on student progress.
- Collaborate with content area coordinators and curriculum coaches to plan professional development.
- Other duties assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Special Populations.

Working ConditionsMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
