Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university (preference to those working on a master’s degree with a focus on Principal Certification)
  • Texas Certification in elementary education
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as an elementary classroom teacher
  • Demonstrated ability to provide staff development and to work collaboratively with others
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Probationary/Term

Contract:

187 days

SALARY:

$64,207/IA-3

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide assistance to instructional staff concerning the teaching/learning process and classroom management.
  • Visit classrooms and provide feedback and coaching related to student learning needs and instructional issues.
  • Model exemplary lessons; support teachers with weekly team planning and lead vertical PK‑5 PLC meetings.
  • Assist in teaching student groups as determined by the principal.
  • Use student data to recommend appropriate changes in instruction, materials, and strategies.
  • Develop and monitor a plan to ensure at‑risk students receive additional assistance.
  • Stay abreast of curriculum issues and district standards; communicate those to staff.
  • Help develop and present workshops supporting the Campus Improvement Plan.
  • Work with parents to promote their involvement in school.
  • Be organized and proficient with technology to analyze data and create intervention schedules.
  • Manage a financial budget, acquire intervention support, and track instructional interventions.
  • Adapt support techniques when working with diverse populations of students.
  • Perform other curriculum duties as assigned by the building principal.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

    Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
