Job Description QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university;
  • Texas certification in an area of Special Education;
  • Minimum of four (4) years of successful teaching/coaching experience with students with severe/profound intellectual disabilities;
  • Texas Administrator/Supervisor certificate preferred;
  • Supervisory experience in Special Education preferred;
  • Demonstrated skill in leading, motivating, and cooperating with others.

SALARY

$73,199 (IA
4)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist the Special Education Department in developing the instructional diagnostic approach taken by special education personnel throughout the district.
  • Assist campus principals and assistant principals with interpretation of special education best practices concerning students with special needs in general and special education programming.
  • Works with appropriate personnel establishing district standards for acceptable levels of student achievement in ECSE.
  • Coordinates and develops district ECSE programming spectrum of services.
  • Prepares budgets for ECSE programs.
  • Provides staff development for ECSE staff.
  • Analyzes campus data to assist with allocation of ECSE classrooms, teachers and paraprofessionals support.
  • Provides supervision for the ECSE curriculum coaches.
  • Conduct Multi-Camus ARDs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Educational Support Services or Director of Specialized Programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.

Motion: Repetitive hand motions frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).

Environmental: Frequent in district-wide travel.

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
