Position Title:
SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

HOUSTON, TX FLSA Class: EXEMPT Responsible to: TEAM LEAD - DATA CENTER DESIGN Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of electrical systems for microgrids, power distribution, and renewable energy equipment. Duties can involve some on-site commissioning and troubleshooting work.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Design and review of medium/low voltage electrical power generation, distribution and microgrid systems.
- Preparation of electrical documentation including short circuit, arc flash, coordination, power system, grounding, load flow, harmonics, fault studies, and transient studies using software such as ETAP.
- Preparation of other documentation including area classifications, drawings and reports, fugitive emissions studies, single line diagrams, electrical BOMs, and reports associated with electrical system studies.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to electrical systems.
- Provide engineering support to other departments as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; 5-10+ years of experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with medium voltage power generation system design (including distribution line design).
- Thorough knowledge of applications, electrical codes, and standards (IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing technologies and industry practices.
- Professional Engineer (PE).
- Design experience in an EPC environment.
- Experience in the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of industrial automation equipment.
- Experience with Power Generation Controls and Automation.
- Experience with programming Digital Multifunction Relays.
- Experience developing relay logic, electrical protection, and coordination schemes.
- Experience performing electrical studies with ETAP or similar software.
