Senior Software Developer

JOB DUTIES:
Gather Business needs via discussions with users and create Business Requirement Document. Study the system flow, data usage, perform impact analysis to define the feasibility of operation and develop a solution for business requirements. Describe solution, Define flow-chart and review the solution with Business users. Create low-level Technical design document based on the technologies used by the application (Unix, Teradata, Windows Power Shell) in a way that technical team understands.

Build code using Unix Scripts, Power Shell scripts, Utilities like BTEQ, MLOAD, TPT, Fast Export etc. and unit test. Creating workflows and sessions, defining mapping parameters /variables session parameters according to the requirements in ETL development standards; managing program coding for the extraction of data from all existing source systems, transforming data to institutional standards and loading the data into the EDW (Enterprise data warehouse and research depot) environment.

Work under supervision. Travel and/or Relocation to various unanticipated client sites throughout USA is required.

EDUCATION: Master’s degree in Computer Science /IT/IS/ Engineering (Any) or related field with Six (6) months of experience in the job offered or as an IT Consultant or Analyst or Programmer or Developer or Engineer or closely related field. Employer also accepts Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science /IT/IS/ Engineering (Any) or related field plus five years of progressive work experience in related field.

Experience of Six (6) Months working with ETL Tools and Teradata is required. Travel and/or relocation is required to unanticipated client sites within USA. International travel is not required. The frequency of travel is currently not known as it depends on the client and project requirement that cannot be currently anticipated. Employer provides Information technology services to various clients in USA and hence implementing projects will require such travel.
