Job Description Purpose and Scope
The Manager Senior, Communications leads the college's strategic communications and storytelling efforts to enhance institutional reputation, engagement, and student success. Oversees the development and execution of integrated communications strategies across digital, print, media, and events, ensuring consistent messaging aligned with the college's mission and values. Provides leadership to communications staff and collaborates across the college to support recruitment, retention, and community engagement initiatives.

Leads, mentors, and inspires a team of communications professionals, including writers, designers, content creators, multimedia and event support staff; establishes clear goals, efficient workflows, provides feedback, and fosters professional growthHires, onboards, trains, and develops staff while cultivating a culture of excellence, collaboration, and exceptional customer serviceManages budget planning, monitoring, and purchasing activities for the communications departmentLeads the team that executes comprehensive communications, branding, and public relations strategies that advance the college's mission, values, and priorities. Prepares and delivers regular communications reports for the Executive DirectorOversees content strategy, planning, creation, and publication across the website, social media, digital newsletters, and event communications; ensures consistency in messaging, branding, and audience engagement. Identify and champion powerful stories that spotlight student success, faculty innovation, staff dedication, and alumni impactAnalyzes performance metrics, including engagement, reach, and audience sentiment to continuously refine strategies and optimize user experienceManages the full life cycle of the college's newsletter and communications hub, including content planning, editorial direction, and final productionDirects video strategy and production, prioritizing projects aligned with institutional goals and managing resources and timelinesBuilds and maintains relationships with campus stakeholders to promote programs, achievements, and initiatives; partners with faculty, department leaders, executives, and the Executive Director to support student success, recruitment and retention, and event communicationsManages vendor relationships and contracts; oversees web content management system administration and work request processes; handles ad hoc projects and data-driven reporting as neededResponsible for other reasonable, related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
