Pump Technician/Mechanic
Temp to hire Pay:
Up to $25/hr Day Shift Expected hours:
No less than 40.0 per week
We are seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic to support the repair, assembly, inspection, and testing of cryogenic pumps, rotating equipment, and well-service pressure pumping equipment. This position is ideal for a mechanically skilled individual who is comfortable working from engineering drawings, using precision measuring instruments, and performing hands-on equipment repair in an industrial shop environment.
Responsibilities- Disassemble cryogenic centrifugal, and reciprocating pumps, documenting as-found condition, wear, damage, and contamination.
- Clean, inspect, and measure components against drawing dimensions and wear limits using micrometers and calipers.
- Assemble pumps, cold ends, and rotating assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness standards required for cryogenic and oxygen-clean service, including proper handling of cleaned components.
- Perform hydrostatic, pressure, leak, and functional testing and accurately document test results.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), job travelers, sketches, and work instructions.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and overhead crane.
- Identify and document nonconforming parts or conditions and follow established quality procedures.
- Maintain required personal tools and a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety and quality requirements and exercise stop-work authority when an unsafe or nonconforming condition is identified.
- High school diploma, GED, or related technical certification.
- Minimum 3-5 years of mechanical assembly, equipment repair, pump repair, or rotating equipment experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience repairing and assembling heavy equipment involving hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and/or lubrication systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, schematics, and job travelers.
- Proficiency using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
- Working knowledge of shop mathematics.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Complete personal tool set as required for the position.
