Overview
This position will be either a level I, II, or Senior Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Medical Oncology and Hematology, based on candidate experience. The role supports the Gulf Coast North Region:
Cypress Northwest and Woodlands North locations.
Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, you will be involved in the care of individuals, families, and patient groups dealing with cancer or related diagnoses. Care may be delivered in clinic or virtually via telemedicine. Duties include prevention, screening, patient care, management, research, education, and administrative tasks. You will ensure compliance with OSHA and industry regulations, and support the US Oncology Compliance Program.
Responsibilities- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
- Initiates and documents interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
- Performs procedures and mentors and trains other providers.
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
- Promotes wellness and recommends community resources.
- Incorporates evidence‑based research into clinical practice.
- Familiar with reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Completes charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
- Provides case management for patients and families.
- Supports nursing staff with information on clinical trials.
- Provides palliative care as needed.
- Promotes/students staff education.
- Rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after‑hours calls.
- Serves as a subject matter expert to the community, providing education and resources.
- Likely supervises nursing and support staff activities.
- May serve in practice or network‑wide APP leadership role.
- May precept APP students and mentor new APPs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- For Nurse Practitioner:
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and completion of an NP program.
- Minimum 6 years of NP experience, preferably in oncology/hematology.
- RN state licensure and current registration with the state board of nursing.
- Current NP licensure.
- AOCNP preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- For Physician Assistant:
- Accredited PA program completion.
- Minimum 6 years of PA experience, preferably in oncology/hematology.
- Current NCCPA certification and state PA license.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- For Clinical Nurse Specialist:
- MSN from an accredited nursing school and completion of a CNS program.
- Minimum 6 years of CNS experience, preferably in oncology/hematology.
- Current state CNS license and RN registration.
- AOCN preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification required.

Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, bending, stooping, twisting, assisting patients in moving and standing, walking for extended periods, and occasional lifting of items up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
