Memorial Hermann Endoscopy Cypress is hiring a RN Pre Op
Welcome to Memorial Hermann Endoscopy Cypress. We have 1 OR room and 3 procedure rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in gastroenterology.
Position requires weekdays only – no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule is subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Pre Op Registered Nurse at Memorial Hermann Endoscopy CypressJob Summary: The Pre Op RN is a Registered Nurse that provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The RN provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The RN reports to the Manager of Peri-operative Services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide attentive and efficient care to patients in the pre-operative phase
- Conduct comprehensive pre-op assessments, including patient history, medications, and allergies
- Initiate IVs, administer medications, and ensure accurate pre-op documentation
- Reinforce pre-operative instructions and provide emotional support to patients and families
- Communicate effectively with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and fellow RNs to ensure coordinated patient care
- Maintain compliance with infection control, medication safety, and patient safety standards
- Ensure all necessary pre-op documentation and consents are completed before surgery
- Monitor and respond to any changes in patient condition prior to surgery
- Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must have at least 1–3 years’ previous experience in PreOP/PACU
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
- Must have current BLS, ALS, and PALS
- Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
