Role DescriptionThis full-time, on-site Veterinary Technician role is based at Cypress Lakes Animal Hospital in Cypress, TX. The Veterinary Technician supports veterinarians in daily patient care, including assisting with exams, administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs, and performing basic laboratory tests. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining exam rooms, collecting samples, assisting with radiology and dental procedures, and supporting anesthetic monitoring during surgeries.
The role also involves educating clients on preventive care, post-treatment instructions, and home care routines, as well as maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring a safe, clean clinical environment.
- Candidates should possess skills in Animal Care and Pet Care to provide compassionate, attentive handling and monitoring of patients.
- Candidates should possess skills in Veterinary Technology to assist with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical support.
- Candidates should possess skills in Client Education to clearly explain care plans, medications, and preventive health measures.
- Candidates should possess skills in Anesthesiology to assist with anesthesia administration and monitoring under veterinary supervision.
- Relevant qualifications include completion of an accredited veterinary technology program (or equivalent experience), current veterinary technician certification or licensure where applicable, strong communication and teamwork skills, basic computer proficiency for medical recordkeeping, and the ability to safely lift and restrain animals of varying sizes.
