Sales Associate Job Description
The Sales Associate is an integral part of the store’s overall success and efficiency, demanding direct attention to our brand commitment when servicing customers and driving results. Responsible for upholding Coach’s Service and Selling Models, creating a positive first impression, building ongoing customer relationships through a personalized experience, and leaving a lasting positive impression.

- Owns personal survey results and develops plans to improve and overcome areas of opportunity.
- Represents Coach as a brand ambassador, demonstrating Coach’s selling and service expectations at all times.
- Understands changes in the local market, supports the execution of local sales strategies and tactics, and drives business through sales strategies, clienteling, and sourcing new customers.
- Builds credibility and trust as a personal fashion advisor by communicating strong product knowledge, current pricing and promotional strategy, and fashion awareness.
- Leverages cross‑selling skills to build the sale and encourages beneficial product add‑ons that relate to the customer’s needs.
- Tailors approach by reading customer cues, attends to individual shopping needs, and works with multiple customers simultaneously.
- Follows up with customers consistently and genuinely to influence or close the sale.
- Flexes personal selling techniques to contribute to overall store financial results.
- Builds lasting and loyal relationships with customers and leverages Coach’s tools and technology for clienteling.
- Creates enthusiasm and positivity for the shared vision and mission, promotes a team‑selling environment, and fosters teamwork, trust, and collaboration.
- Remains solution‑oriented, adaptable, and flexible to changing business and store needs while welcoming feedback and maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
- Ensures all daily tasks are completed without negatively impacting service or Coach standards.
- Maintains store (sales floor and backroom), cash wrap, and visual merchandising to Coach standards consistently and in a timely manner.
- Replenishes inventory on the sales floor as needed and supports the store inventory process by processing shipments, stocking shelves, and maintaining strong organizational standards.
- Supports cash wrap when needed to process purchases, returns, and exchanges, and efficiently processes customer transactions.
- Prepares the store by organizing functional areas, performing routine cleaning, and maintaining visual merchandising expectations.

Experience: 1–3 years of previous sales experience, preferably in a luxury retail service environment, with current knowledge of fashion trends and competition.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
