Design Consultant

Base Pay

Minimum base pay of $15.00 per hour; higher starting pay available based on experience.

The Design Consultant is the entry point into design at Floor & Decor, engaging customers on the sales floor to support their design projects, conducting design appointments, and selecting tile, wood, stone and accessories. The consultant partners with store leaders to maximize sales goals and expand the design services brand.

• 1+ years of retail or customer service experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Proficient in basic mathematics
• Self‑motivated and able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office
• Internal candidates: minimum 6 months with Floor & Decor

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk‑in needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers; develop clientele through networking, referrals, and leads generated within the store
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessory advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and follow‑up, including concise communication to customers and others
• Use company communication tools and email consistently
• Collaborate, partner and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals
• Support company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees
• Understand and utilize design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and My Project
• Perform other duties as assigned

Limited travel may be required by car. The employee frequently works in a warehouse environment and is exposed to moving vehicles. The noise level is typically moderate to noisy.

• Ability to exert 20‑50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10‑25 pounds of force frequently, and/or >10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.

Monday – Friday: 7:00AM – 8:00PM;
Saturday: 8:00AM – 7:00PM;
Sunday: 10:00AM – 6:00PM.
