Class A CDL Driver (Live Bottom/Belt Trailer)

Compensation & Perks: $1000 Annual Retention Bonus | Competitive Weekly Pay.

Position Summary

The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials using a tractor‑trailer and live bottom (belt) trailer. The role involves hauling compost, soil, mulch, aggregates, and other bulk materials to customer locations and project sites. Candidates should commit to safety, demonstrate excellent driving skills, and be able to operate specialized unloading equipment. Experience with roll‑off containers and equipment is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle with a live bottom trailer in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Transport and deliver bulk materials to customer locations, construction sites, farms, compost facilities, and processing locations.
  • Operate live bottom trailer unloading systems safely and efficiently.
  • Perform pre‑trip, post‑trip, and daily inspections of tractors, trailers, and associated equipment.
  • Secure and cover loads using tarp systems to comply with transportation regulations and prevent material loss.
  • Load, transport, and unload materials while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
  • Complete driver logs, inspection reports, fuel records, and other required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch, operations personnel, and customers regarding delivery schedules and operational updates.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and report maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Keep equipment clean, organized, and in safe operating condition.
  • Assist with yard operations, staging equipment, and other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Roll‑off truck experience preferred.
  • Experience hauling bulk materials, compost, mulch, aggregates, agricultural products, and bio compost.
  • Experience operating live bottom, walking floor, or other specialty trailers.
  • Familiarity with construction, environmental, agricultural, recycling, or waste management operations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurability requirements.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, Hours of Service requirements, and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles, as required.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Safe operation of tractor‑trailers and specialized hauling equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate and troubleshoot live bottom trailer systems.
  • Knowledge of proper load securement and tarp procedures.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing routes, schedules, and work assignments.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb in and out of trucks and trailers multiple times per day.
  • Ability to climb ladders and access trailer tarp systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform vehicle inspections.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, mud, and dusty environments.
Work Environment

This position operates in a variety of environments, including construction sites, compost facilities, farms, recycling centers, transfer stations, landfills, and customer locations. Drivers must be comfortable working around heavy equipment, uneven terrain, moving vehicles, and outdoor conditions year‑round.
