Qualifications:

• Must have a current AL Professional Educator Certificate with a proper endorsement for the area
• Meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education regulations

Job Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to:

• Create or select long-range plans based on a review of system and state curriculum priorities, student profiles and instructional priorities
• Define goals and objectives for unit and daily plans
• Identify specific intended learning outcomes which are challenging, meaningful and measurable
• Plan and prepare a variety of learning activities considering individual student's culture, learning styles, special needs and socio-economic backgrounds
• Establish and maintain a positive and safe learning environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process
• Establish and use behavior techniques which are appropriate and effective
• Support school improvement initiatives by active participation in school activities, services, and programs

Qualifications:

This is a contract position – tenure is not gained during contract

Must hold a valid Alabama professional educator certificate or alternate certificate in math, secondary science or computer science.

Must teach [full-time] approved math, science, or computer science courses in grades 6-12 with the appropriate certificate endorsements.

Must hold a valid advanced certification or credential; or dependent upon teaching experience level, obtain a specialized certification or credential within either 3 or 6 years.

Must meet all requirements established by the Teacher Excellence and Accountability for Mathematics and Science (TEAMS) Salary Schedule Program (Act #) including teaching full time in an approved course, maintaining adequate progress towards an advanced credential (if the teacher does not have an advanced credential) and relinquishment of continuing service status.
