• Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for Fleet sailors in support of Aegis Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren, VA.
• Conducts traditional classroom instruction and supports tactical lab training.
• Serves as an Expert Instructor to train CG/DDG sailors in tactical employment of the Aegis Combat System, weapons systems, mission planning, and tactical communications.
• Provides subject matter expertise in curriculum development for ATRC courses supporting operational employment of Aegis Combat System.
• Provides dynamic teaching and training as well as assessment requiring advanced knowledge of U.S. Navy Combat Systems capabilities and limitations to the officer level.
• Conducts assessment of sailors’ compliance with maintenance and operational procedures and provides formal appraisal and recommendations.
• Observes and assesses contemporaries during practice and certification, teaches per NAVEDTRA 135, and prepares curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides for classroom teaching.
• Documents training conducted, generates assessment reports, and develops, tests, maintains, and delivers Aegis training programs and related materials.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
• Seven years of experience with the Aegis system or related process as a maintenance technician, manager, or operator with responsibility for teaching others in a master-level training environment.
• Experience as a qualified TAO, Anti-Air Warfare Coordinator, Ballistic Missile Defense Officer, or Combat System Coordinator, and experience on an Aegis warship.
• At least one year as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, including curriculum maintenance, learning objective writing, test item preparation, and evaluation.
• Experience as a qualified AWCC or Master/Afloat Training Specialist supporting SCSTC/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus;
  Surface Warfare Tactics Instructor AQD is highly preferred.
• Located at the customer site (Dahlgren, VA).

Salary range: $72,877 – $98,599, depending on experience, location, and contract.

Weekly hours: 40; travel: less than 10%; telecommuting: onsite; work location: USA, VA, Dahlgren.
