Position: ENGINEER/SCIENTIST with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will perform and oversee the execution of system safety engineering on Naval Platforms, Combat Systems, and/or Weapon Systems.
* You will provide technical advice to top level Navy management and technical personnel, other agencies, and private organizations.
* You will serve on Navy, interagency, and technical society panels and committees of national or international scope.
* You will serve as a consultant to other technical experts in the field and provide advice on issues on which experts disagree.
* You will apply technical subject matter expertise in systems safety toward training, advising, and mentoring system safety practitioners in the application of systems safety.
* You will ensure that work within the branch is executed in a manner consistent with B70-developed processes, methodologies, and technical standards and that technical rigor is applied consistently across the branch.
* You will work with other Branch and the B70 Division Technical Staff to develop, mature, or refine technical safety processes and methodologies and provide technical direction on the implementation and execution of these processes.
* You will conduct technical reviews of safety program artifacts and provide technical direction to a team of scientists, engineers, and other system safety professionals.
* You will lead the collaboration effort with technical authorities (e.g. System Design Managers, System Integration Managers, etc.) to provide system safety engineering expertise relevant to B70 processes, methodologies, and analyses.
* You will lead Branch technical review and safety input to DoD, Navy, NAVSEA, and NSWC policy and guidance documents.
* You will provide senior-level technical expertise and guidance to support Safety Review Boards.
* You will support the Branch Head in monitoring the technical health of all projects and portfolios. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition

and category assigned to the position is required within established category time frames.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* The 1550 is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (INSERT TITLE), proficiency level (LEVEL) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12 and GS-13 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or scientistexecuting systems engineering activities related to Naval Weapons Systems while demonstrating direct experience on system safety techniques, theories, and principles;
