Sensor Systems Engineering and Technical Support (SSETS)
Bowhead is seeking to network with individuals to join our team for a newly awarded contract effort to provide engineering and technical support services to support NSWCDD at the warfare center, test facilities, Contractor facilities, and in the field. This support shall be provided in the general Sensor Work Areas of:
Requirements Development, Systems Engineering, Analysis, Modeling, Hardware Design, Signal Processing, Sensor Operation, Test and Evaluation, Sensor Certification, and Sensor Requirement Verification.
This position does not allow for telecommuting and all work will be performed on‑site in Dahlgren, VA.
Available Positions- Aegis/Spy Certification Lead Engineer
- Combat Systems RADAR Engineer/Scientist
- Journeyman Engineer/Scientist
- RADAR Modeling and Simulation Engineer
- RADAR Systems Spectrum Engineer
- System Testing Engineer/Scientist
Qualifications for System Testing Engineer/Scientist:
- Bachelor’s degree from a school of engineering with an ABET‑accredited curriculum in one of the following fields:
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering. - or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
- or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
- or Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
- Experience with either or both of: AN/SPY‑1, AN/SPY‑6
- AEGIS experience required
- Basic level skills in Microsoft Office software suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Must be able to lift up to 10 to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
