SCCI is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Design Engineer to join our team in support of a Weapon System Program. In this role, you will develop weapon control system code for multiple projects across the Battle Management System portfolio. Tasks range in scope from coding on embedded microcontrollers to developing simulators that include interactive GUI designs. You will support installation and assessment of embedded systems locally and at external locations.
This position is located onsite at NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities- Debug and troubleshoot hardware-software interfaces at a low-level using tools such as an oscilloscope and logic analyzers.
- Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, including network configuration, connectivity, and data transmission problems.
- Write test cases, perform unit testing, and validate hardware-software integration.
- Work in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing field environment with a focus on fielding a product.
- Support tasking for multiple projects.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in computer engineering and/or electrical engineering; degree requirements may be waived for candidates with direct hands‑on experience with a weapon system application.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience demonstrating the ability to concept, prototype, design, code, and engineer embedded software solutions.
- Knowledge of C#, Java, or C++.
- Knowledge of hardware architectures, microcontrollers, and communication protocols.
- Knowledge of GUI development.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite, including network stack integration and socket programming.
- Proficiency with widely used version control systems, such as Git.
- Knowledge of tools like Jenkins and Git Lab.
- Knowledge and experience with weapon system integration.
- Knowledge and experience of military standards, such as MIL-STD-1553 and UAI STANAG 4586.
- Experience with integration with GPS, sensor balls, and safety interlock circuitry.
