Responsibilities
We are seeking a part‑time radar systems engineer to support a fast‑paced radar program within the Navy's Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Mission Systems.
Candidate will support a variety of tasks including: support and completion of major technical reviews; producing required acquisition documentation; meeting critical program milestone deadlines; managing program needs and external requirements, and ensuring the right resources are provided to the right priorities at the right time.
Day To Day RoleYou can expect to work on a variety of radar development and integration documents and tasks.
- Lead and act on behalf of the program's Working Group Leads ensuring the appropriate Systems Engineering processes and discipline is applied across the program.
- Support technical interchanges and working groups by providing technical expertise in the areas of radar and/or combat systems integration.
- Conduct technical studies and develop systems engineering documentation as directed by program leadership.
A hybrid work environment is acceptable; however the candidate must have the ability to work primarily from NSWC Dahlgren.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM
- 12+ years of experience in DoD systems engineering
- Proven experience with Navy’s surface radar, and/or combat systems design and certification processes
- DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment
Desired
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant work experience, particularly in the area of DoD engineering, including experience as a radar Chief Engineer or Technical Warrant holder
- Master of Science degree or higher in a technical field
