Leverages physics expertise to test and analyze physical phenomena to support Research & Development challenges. Develops or contributes to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with some guidance and reviews or guides activities of junior employees. Prepares, executes, and documents test events. Leverages expertise in test instrumentation, scientific processes, and lab environment optimization to ensure that all technical systems are operational and performing optimally prior to test events, with a strong emphasis on test preparation and live event support.

You Have:

• 1+ year of experience in a lab in a professional or research environment
• Experience in a science field, such as physics, chemistry, or electrical engineering
• Experience with, or aptitude to rapidly master instrumentation equipment and specialized software including Phantom Camera Control, FLIR Research Studio, and data acquisition (DAQ) systems
• Experience in MATLAB
• Ability to set up and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to develop, document, and adhere to rigorous lab procedures to ensure safe and successful test execution
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and contribute to productive meetings toward decisive outcomes
• Ability to draw scientific conclusions from acquired and processed data sets and to communicate observations to a multidisciplinary team of modeling and test personnel
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

• Ability to interface with test leads to coordinate and execute test scenarios in a fluid, high‑tempo operational environment
• Ability to maintain and configure all test instrumentation, including high‑speed cameras, thermal imagers, and DAQ systems, ensuring peak operational readiness
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software and hardware issues related to test equipment in lab and field environments
• Ability to identify, recommend, and lead the integration of upgrades to instrumentation and software to advance data‑collection capabilities
• Ability to configure, verify, and manage all network connections for instrumentation to guarantee seamless data flow and reliable system control
• Ability to provide real‑time, hands‑on troubleshooting for any technical issues that arise during a test, ensuring minimal disruption and complete data capture
• Ability to operate and manage all assigned instrumentation and data acquisition systems during the test event

Compensation: The projected compensation range for this position is $69,300.00 to $ (annualized USD). Salary is determined by location, education, skills, and experience, along with contract‑specific requirements. In addition to base salary, employees receive health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week are eligible for the benefit programs.

• Remote: May include occasional in‑person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, and may also work from or visit a customer facility.
• Onsite: Primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
