Overview
The Model Based Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the Department of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division on the Tomahawk Tactical Weapon Control System (TTWCS). They will play a supporting role in achieving the organization’s goals by working on an existing gov‑contractor team (at least five people, likely more) who are building and updating system models for TTWCS. This position will directly impact development, design, and support for not only TTWCS but also future Tomahawk Weapon System and system‑of‑systems development.

Job Duties
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of complex systems using advanced modeling techniques.
- Translate customer requirements into actionable digital models.
- Create and manage system models using MBSE tools to represent requirements, architecture, behavior, and verification processes.
- Analyze and decompose system requirements into functional and performance specifications within a model‑based framework.
- Conduct model verification activities using real‑world data to ensure system performance aligns with requirements.
- Work with senior members of engineering teams to address technical challenges.
- Support technical evaluations, development activities, and mission needs.
- Apply MBSE methodologies to the development processes to improve system reliability.
- Interpret system behavior and optimize designs based on data analysis.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience and deep understanding of system engineering principles with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, Magic Draw, CORE, or GENESYS).
- SysML methodology for system modeling.
- Risk‑management tools and processes for complex systems.
- Standard computer‑based business tools (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience in working groups or IPTs.
- Familiarity with white‑box and black‑box concepts (preferred).
- Routing An Information Support Plan (ISP).
- Scripting proficiency.
- Experience working with Navy weapons system requirements.
- Familiarity with Agile development methods such as Kanban.
Bachelor of Science in a STEM degree required.
Physical Requirements- May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent use of keyboard and typing.
- Frequent sitting and standing.
STD 80. Must have the ability to work within company and customer schedule requirements which may vary depending on criticality and necessity of a given task. Ability to work non‑standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.
Pay Range$ to $15,000.00 annually, DOE.
U.S. CitizenshipU.S. citizenship is required.
Security ClearanceCandidates must have an active clearance or the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance and will be subject to a U.S. security background investigation (e.g., favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
