The Housekeeping Technician regularly performs the full range of housekeeping services at a Navy Gateway Inn and Suites and/or Navy Lodge property. This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning guest rooms, interior public spaces, storage areas, laundry rooms, and exterior spaces using hand and powered cleaning equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities- Cleans guest rooms and assigned areas; operates cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer and polisher) and maintains cleanliness of floors, walls, furniture, amenities and technology such as TVs and phones.
- Replaces linens, cleans and disinfects bathrooms, kitchens, and other living spaces, and manages consumables and non‑consumables.
- Maintains guest privacy and security, greets and welcomes guests, and ensures all services are rendered to guest satisfaction.
- Performs deep cleaning and maintenance tasks, including carpet shampooing, window cleaning, and equipment repair or reporting for repair.
- Cleans and inspects exterior areas such as parking lots and passageways; may assist with truck loading/unloading and merchandise handling.
- Handles key management, reports unusual circumstances, and performs lost‑and‑found reporting.
- Sets up and cleans the self‑service breakfast bar, including food handling and safety compliance.
- Completes required safety and security training, applies protocols for blood‑borne pathogen safety, and follows NEXCOM Hospitality Group policies.
- Performs laundry operations, may travel to other facilities if required, and may be required to obtain NHG housekeeping certification within 6 months of employment.
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Physical RequirementsModerate physical effort moving furniture and using hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment.
