Configuration Management Specialist

Overview

Bowhead seeks an experienced Configuration Management Specialist with a strong background in configuration management processes, particularly within the context of the Department of Defense/United States Marine Corps in Dahlgren, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in configuration management and a thorough understanding of the DoD/USMC's procedures and requirements.

• Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management processes and procedures.
• Ensure all configuration management activities are conducted in accordance with DoD/USMC standards and requirements.
• Maintain configuration management databases and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with various departments to manage configuration changes, ensuring all modifications are properly documented and communicated.
• Perform audits and reviews to ensure compliance with established configuration management policies and standards.
• Provide training and support to staff on configuration management procedures and best practices.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure configuration management activities align with project goals and timelines.
• Other duties as assigned

• Minimum of a High School diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
• Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII, ITIL) is a plus.
• Experience with DoD (Department of Defense) configuration management standards and protocols.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US citizenship is required for Secret clearance at this location.
