Primary Duties:

  • Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies:
    Lead all team-level Agile events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure the team maintains its disciplined two-week sprint cadence.
  • Support PI Planning:
    Actively participate in and support the team's Program Increment (PI) planning events three times annually, helping to align team objectives with broader program goals.
  • Impediment Removal:
    Proactively identify, track, and remove obstacles, distractions, and dependencies that hinder the development team's progress and focus.
  • Agile

    Coaching:

    Act as a servant‑leader and coach, guiding the team on Scrum principles, Agile best practices, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement and self‑organization.
  • Backlog Management Support:
    Assist the Product Owner in maintaining a healthy, well‑defined, and properly prioritized product backlog.
  • Foster Transparency:
    Ensure that key Agile artifacts, such as product backlogs, burndown charts, and team metrics, are visible, accurate, and up‑to‑date to promote transparency with stakeholders.
  • Multi‑Vendor

    Collaboration:

    Facilitate communication and effective collaboration between the CI team and other key vendors (Haivision, GET, DRS, Compunetix, NSWCDD) to ensure seamless integration and resolve cross‑team dependencies.
Key Deliverables:
  • A predictable and efficient sprint cadence with properly facilitated and time‑boxed events.
  • An impediment log showing tracked, prioritized, and resolved issues.
  • Accurate and transparent Agile artifacts (e.g., burndown charts, velocity metrics, updated backlogs).
  • Actionable improvement items generated from sprint retrospectives to increase team effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:
  • Strong customer relations, analytics, and documentation skills.
  • Self‑starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic with a commitment to quality.
  • Microsoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work within a challenging, fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi‑task and meet competing, deliverable deadlines.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear status and/or communicate issues.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technology.
Desired:
  • Experience with Agile management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience working in a DoD, government contracting, or other highly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with scaled Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS).
  • A technical background in infrastructure, networking, or systems engineering.
  • Advanced Agile or Scrum certifications (e.g., A‑CSM, PSM II).
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in a Scrum Master role for a software or systems development team.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent certification.
Clearance:

This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.

Compensation:

While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000 to $140,000. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.
