IT Lab Systems Support Specialist
Location:
Dahlgren, VA.
- Provide customer support for installation of IT hardware and software to support lab simulation launching kinetic weapons from various platforms.
- Configure IT hardware and software in the lab to meet customer needs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as upgrading hardware and software and installing required patches to ensure optimal performance of lab equipment.
- Conduct operational tests on lab equipment to ensure system availability and reliability.
- Conduct troubleshooting procedures for IT hardware and software to maintain equipment availability.
- Manage account access to lab equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of hardware configurations, troubleshooting steps, and other relevant information.
- Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Active DoD Secret clearance required to start.
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- IAT Level II (Information Assurance Technical) or higher DOD 8140 under specialty area 45 (Security+) within 60 days of start.
- Five+ years of experience with demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to plan or schedule installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems and applications software; manage accounts, access to systems and equipment; maintain systems configuration; and manage installation and integration of system fixes, updates and enhancements.
- Experience with Linux.
