Material Coordinator is a logistics professional responsible for managing the total work effort associated with CHRIMP management, supply chain management, inventory management, and Government owned material as required herein. The contractor will perform all HAZMAT physical distribution functions for Government owned material. This role is crucial for ensuring military installations and operations adhere to stringent federal, state, and DoD regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform HAZMAT Supply Chain management, Inventory management, and CHRIMP management functions.
  • Following FIAR requirements, verify and circle quantity, print/sign/date shipping documents for Government and customer owned material acknowledging receipt of HAZMAT and documenting the HAZMAT receipt in the GDS.
  • Receive, inspect and process all incoming Government and customer owned HAZMAT in GDS.
  • Label all HAZMAT upon receipt and issue with a GDS produced barcode tracking label.
  • Apply all applicable HAZMAT labels produced for all sites.
  • Manage only HAZMAT approved on the customer AUL.
  • Distribute new or updated/revised SDSs to authorized customers at the time of first issue (and upon demand thereafter).
  • Perform Issue transaction to all empty HAZMAT containers in GDS.
  • Shelf‑Life Management for Government and customer owned material in accordance with DoDI 4140.27 Shelf‑Life Management Manual.
  • Manage and fund spill control when the Contractor is at fault.
  • Provide Standardized Operating Procedures (SOPs) as specified by the Government.
  • Certify HAZMAT for transportation.
  • Participate in other Pollution Prevention (P2) program.
  • Provide support for locker assessments on regional sites/lockers.
  • Conduct daily reviews of all HAZMAT Management Tool (HMM Tool) Pending Work Queues at assigned sites.
  • Conduct appropriate corrective measures.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of Government and customer owned inventory with respect to quantity and location.
  • Complete an annual inventory for 100% of Government and customer owned material.
  • Utilize the GDS Navy ERP Physical Inventory process to conduct and provide inventory documentation.
  • Assist and advise customers on all facets of HM management and storage at the unit locker level.
  • Provide support for locker assessments at multiple NAVSUP FLC Norfolk across Naval District Washington locations and customer work centers.
  • Locker assessments shall be conducted at least once annually to ensure CHRIMP compliance.
  • Responsible for the receiving, inspection and processing of all incoming Government and customer owned HAZMAT IAW Section 1.3.2 and sign documents acknowledging receipt of HAZMAT.
  • Responsible for reviewing HMM Tool Pending Work Queue requests daily.
  • Responsible for reviewing HMM Tool AUL & Material Requests: WHSE Queue to update receipt and processing of outstanding transactions.

Qualifications
  • Must have obtained a High School diploma or GED.
  • Possess a minimum of two (2) years of logistical experience, with at least one (1) year in a Navy or Marine Corps environment.
  • Must have and maintain a current, valid state driver's license.
  • Knowledge of Government Designated Software Systems (Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N‑ERP), HMM Tool, Web Federal Logistics Information System‑WEBFLIS).
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT Information Resource System (HMIRS), and Shelf‑Life Extension System (SLES).
