Position: Inventory Specialist with Security Clearance

AMO, an Akima company, is always looking for qualified individuals who can obtain a clearance and join our team as an Inventory Specialist. Candidates should be familiar with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N‑ERP) or similar logistics supply chain software and be willing to work at our Dahlgren, VA location. The successful candidate will provide on‑site support at NSWC for day‑to‑day operations of the Corporate Operations Department, Property Management Division in the areas of general equipment and operating materials & supplies (OM&S), distribution, disposal and reverse logistics, and screening of supply and stock requirements.

Specifically, this position supports equipment tagging and inventory management.

Clearance

A current interim Secret or active Secret is required.

Responsibilities
  • On‑site property management support: tag/record general equipment line items in N-ERP; conduct general equipment physical inventories; maintain subsidiary accounts for Assets Under Development, Fixed Assets, and Accumulated Depreciation in Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP); provide assistance to Tech Departments on general equipment property and N-ERP issues; maintain/reconcile general equipment property records and receipts and ensure records are auditable and meet FIAR standards;

    conduct inventory of containers; assist with proper packing of containers; and validate shipping manifests against container contents.
  • Interfaces directly with NSWCDD Technical Departments, local government POCs, Subject Matter Experts (SME), NSWCDD Inventory Specialists and Procurement Analysts, NSWCDD Personal Property Manager (PPM), NSWCDD Organizational Property Administrators (OPA), and the Container Control Officer (CCO).
  • Updates standard operating procedures and process guides as needed.
  • Provides accurate and reliable metrics data that affect financial and operational reporting for Leadership.
  • Completes daily N-ERP transactions accurately to ensure new assets are recorded within the required timeline.
  • Supports Property Management meetings as needed.
  • Attends local training and knowledge transfer (KT) sessions.
  • Conducts physical inventories of property within defined time frames.
  • Conducts spot‑check inventories as required.
  • Conducts stock screening to maintain service level agreement daily.
  • Completes daily, weekly and monthly Property reports including inventory, property pass, MILSTRIP, Stock Screening, OM&S and GE.
  • Assists with training technical customers on new processes developed for property screening and material management offsite.
Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen able to pass a government background investigation to obtain a DoD clearance (includes criminal, financial, and other background checks).
  • Associate's degree or three (3) years or more of work experience.
  • Experience with inventory management, procurement, or purchasing.
  • Experience using N-ERP for inventory control or similar tools.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple online databases to resolve issues and respond to customer requests.
  • Must be detail-oriented and customer-focused.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Desired Qualifications
  • Current Interim Secret or active Secret preferred.
  • Three (3) years of related experience in inventory management.
  • Knowledge and experience with the N-ERP tool.
  • Experience with creating Unique Material Master (UMM) records in N-ERP.
