Junior Tactical Systems Technician

SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing activities at the Operations Control Center (OCC) or various NSWCDD labs, as assigned by the Lead Tactical Systems Engineer. Duties include performing unique tasks as assigned, providing support to facility users, troubleshooting, both corrective and preventive maintenance, and documenting work performed.

• Test, troubleshoot, and perform corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Make tactical logbook entries that are concise, accurate, and detailed.
• Use proper Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Generate, update, and close work candidates and configuration changes, ensuring information is detailed and accurate.
• Install and test all Aegis Weapon System related IWSL local change notices.
• Utilize all applicable security procedures while performing in the IWSL.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Four (4) years of general Naval tactical O&M experience, including two (2) years of training and simulation systems O&M experience (e.g., AEGIS, SSDS, AC2SN, ACTS, BFTT, WASP, MLST3, ASTATS, NGS).
• Must have or be able to attain a DOD security clearance.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Ability to work independently and complete a substantial body of work.
• Ability to communicate and share knowledge.

Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

May require some travel.

DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Additional requirements:

satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references, proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States.
