C or C++ Junior Developer

Position Summary

Amentum is seeking a C or C++ Junior Developer to support software development & integration for Naval projects in Dahlgren, VA.

Dahlgren, Virginia (on-site)

• Develop, test, and maintain software in C and/or C for the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) weapon system.
• Support senior developers using Agile development principles.
• Assist with requirements analysis, problem‑solving, and documentation.

• 0-5 years of software development experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive on and off base.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience with multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) and a mathematical background.

• C++ or C programming.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and engineering personnel.
• Analysis and problem‑solving skills in support of professional scientific/engineering work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.

US: $85,000 - $100,000 (salary estimate; actual compensation may vary).
