The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant II, Student Health Services on the Dahlonega campus. This is a full-time, 12-month position. The position entails secretarial work of medium to difficult complexity and variety which follows prescribed procedures and involves considerable time using computers and various general and specialized computer software programs. This position acts as support staff for the director and all staff.
It requires diplomatic and friendly interpersonal skills. This person will be responsible for daily office activities such as scheduling, budgetary and supply requisition duties, on-campus marketing, support with large outreach events, and multiple reports of an administrative and statistical nature.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and holds the responsibility of serving as a mandatory reporter for all Clery Act crimes.

- Makes and maintains paperwork for requests regarding purchasing, maintenance, and financial expenditures. Responsible for E-Pro requisition, purchase order and check requests, and managing invoices of vendor payments. Assists director in maintaining records to ensure all purchases are correct and noted in the correct budget fund and balances budget with expenditures at end of each month and year.
- Acts as first point of contact for students, faculty, and staff. Provides assistance to students, parents, faculty, and staff contacting the department. Assists in training new staff when tasked.
- Maintains clinic appointments and staffing schedule as directed by the SHS leadership. Effectively and efficiently utilizes electronic medical record system.
- Maintains patient confidentiality, safeguards protected health information (PHI) and follows FERPA and HIPAA laws.
- Maintains and orders office supplies and submits maintenance and surplus requests.
- Assists with processing immunizations and immunization holds.
- Maintains credentialing information for staff and sends reminders to ensure licensure, certification, CPR, and other required documentation and training are up to date. Informs SHS leadership when items have expired.
- Gathers data from files, surveys, and other resources and prepares reports requiring basic mathematical calculations and tabulations.
- Completes other tasks as assigned. Participates in Nighthawk Preview, orientation, and other events as needed.
- Knowledge of personal computers and office software, office machines, and office practices.
- Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality and ability to apply this concept within and outside the workplace and the ability to meet officials, students, and visitors pleasantly and courteously.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork skills are essential.
- Ability to effectively convey accurate information is essential.
