- Federal Work Study
Location:
UNG
- Gainesville
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the Communication, Film & Theatre department on the Gainesville campus. The Communication, Film & Theatre Content Crew captures video and photos of CFT events and academic programs to be used in promotional materials. The crew functions as a team, with some crew members focusing more on camera operation, others focusing on editing, and others focusing on producing.
The crew will sometimes work together and sometimes operate as individuals, depending on availability of crew members and the needs of the shoot. Schedules are flexible and fit into each member's class schedule while ensuring coverage of major school events.
- Specific job duties and responsibilities will be tailored to applicants' skill sets.
- Ideally, one crew member will function primarily as the camera department lead, another will function as the postproduction lead, and another will function as the producer.
- Communication, teamwork, and willingness to adapt one's role to the needs of each shoot are essential.
- Crew members will work with their supervisors to identify opportunities to capture content.
- Most shoots will occur during weekdays, but occasionally there will be evening and weekend shoots.
- Supervisors will guide crew members through the process of editing photos to prepare for publication and editing video footage into particular deliverables.
- Crew members must demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills, basic understanding of camera operation and how to compose images, self-sufficiency and reliability, basic awareness of photo and video postproduction, and an organizational and logistical mindset.
- This is a developmental experience, so while proficiency in one or more of these areas is preferred, we welcome applicants who want to further develop their abilities in one or more of these areas.
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation including a criminal background check demonstrating your eligibility for employment with the University of North Georgia, as determined by the University of North Georgia in its sole discretion, confirmation of the credentials and employment history reflected in your application materials and, if applicable, a satisfactory credit check. Applicants may be subject to a pre-employment drug test.
