Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Associate Dean/Director of Movement Science. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Associate Dean/Director of Movement Science of the College of Health & Wellness (CH&W) serves as a member of the College Leadership Team and will support the Dean by providing leadership and oversight in the Division of Movement Science. The Associate Dean will work collaboratively with faculty and department chairs and serve as a member of the CH&W Curriculum Committee to support program and curriculum additions and modifications in accordance with University System of Georgia (USG), University of North Georgia (UNG), and accreditation bodies.

The Associate Dean/Director of Movement Science will collaborate and serve as the Assistant Director of the Institute for Peak Performance (IPP). As part of their duties to the IPP, the Assistant Director will report to and support the Director of Peak Performance with oversight of research, programming, and day-to-day operations of the Institute.

The role will require frequent and purposeful interaction with a variety of constituents including but not limited to student-athletes, student-cadets, coaches, CH&W faculty/staff/students, senior UNG administration, and community partners/stakeholders in support of the delivery of curriculum, research, and services foundational to IPP.

Responsibilities

* Curriculum development and oversight:
Actively involved in the planning and development of curriculum for IPP. Assists in coordination of services in the IPP and other learning activities during the development of curriculum and programming in IPP.

* Student Success:
Supports all aspects of student success in Division of Movement Science and IPP. Will serve on the College student behavior and appeals committee and the College Curriculum Committee as directed by the Dean.

* Faculty & staff support and development:
Assists IPP and College with ongoing training of faculty and staff to update knowledge and skills. Oversee the management of and assist with the support of faculty, interprofessional research in IPP to foster contributions beneficial to UNG and external stakeholders. Assist faculty in the identification and inclusion of high impactful teaching practices (HITPs) in IPP.

* Administrative support:
Supports the Dean and Director of the IPP by participating in and attending university and community events as directed and serves as the direct report in the Dean's and/or Director of IPP
¿ s absence. Facilitates recruitment and hiring of new employees in the Division of Movement Science and in accreditation preparation and visits as directed by the Dean. Assists in annual reviews of staff and faculty in the Division of Movement Science as directed by the Dean & Director of IPP. Supports the development and execution of human performance initiatives in the IPP.

* Strategic planning and Vision:
Plays an active part in the strategic planning and forecasting for the future as a key member of the College and IPP strategic planning committee. Works to develop a collective vision and philosophy for the relationship and services rendered by CH&W within the IPP.
