Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for Head Tutors in the UNG Family Literacy Program. The program will run every Tuesday from September 15th through November 3rd in the fall semester.

Responsibilities
  • Head Tutors duties consist of:
    • Serve as tutors in the literacy program.
    • Recruit and train student volunteers who will serve as tutors in the Family Literacy Program.
    • Assist the program PI's in keeping track of student volunteers and participants.
    • Assist the PI's in completing weekly tasks (e.g., photocopying, updating volunteer and participant).
    • Assist the program PI's in setting up before the program starts every week and cleaning up afterwards.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Punctuality and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and enjoy helping people.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
  • Must be willing to participate and/or facilitate the 8-week Family Literacy Program on Tuesday evenings.
  • Willingness to teach and learn.
  • Willing to serve in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Customer service experience or experience working with people is preferred.
